Officer Astrid Morse is leaving for a new assignment with the Durham Region Police Service this month and we want to say thanks for 7 great years of leadership and teaching at the Kids' Safety Village of Durham Region. Over 50,000 children attended her safety lessons over the years, and all benefited from the hands on experience and informative safety presentations of Officer Astrid. She also managed to take the special events like the Easter egg hunt and the Halloween Haunt to new heights of attendance with her focus on detail and decoration and by creating lots of fun activities at these events - more than 2300 attended the final event Astrid presented for Halloween this year - an amazing turnout!
As we welcome Officer Cory Walsh - the new teaching officer at the Village - we want to wish Astrid all the best in whatever the future holds! Thanks for your dedication and commitment to what you have helped to make the best Kids' Village in Ontario!
